My Faith
I’ve created this page, not as some kind of encyclopedia, but as a bit of a peek into my Spiritual side. I have also added the written works of others which I find give the best overall look into the true soul of my particular chosen path. As I state regularly: I am not pristine angel, I am not infallible, but these little snippets are the ideals that I try to follow, as my life path, to the best of my ability.
How I found My Path
I came to my Faith as a child. My mother’s family were farmers and my father’s family were all longshoremen. Both superstitious lots. My great grandma on my mother’s side knew “ways to heal things” and “ways to bless the crops better”. My elders on my father’s side sent charms and amulets off to sea with the menfolk and chanted for their safe return. It was a natural progression for me. I picked up books, I listened to others, I looked online. I still search – the quest never ends. It is as it should be.
About My Faith
I am what I am and you cannot take that from me. I am what some call a Wiccan, others call a Pagan yet still more simply call me a ‘godless heathen’ which is ridiculous in and of itself, I am not Godless, I have many Gods, and Goddesses.
Personally, I choose not to identify as a Wiccan because I find the path of Wicca is more a hindrance to me than a way to grow and branch out. There is still much dogma within the system that I simply cannot abide. I have the utmost respect for those who follow the Path of Wicca but it is just not for me. To me–the Craft is not so black and white, it’s so many shades of grey in between and some rainbow tones just to mix things up a bit.
Some would say I’m a heretic, others would call me blasphemous. I am neither of those, unless you forget that they are mainly terms used by Christians and since I am not of that faith, the terms cannot apply to me, not in my own heart. I am not evil. I am not black nor white. I am the neutrality which is this universe & all things within it. Night to day. Hot to cold. There is no Satan, there is no Hell. I can’t worship one or end up in the other because to me–they do not exist.
I wear a pentacle about my neck and I praise the Old Ones. I call to the Guardians and I say goodnight to the Mother. I ask the Father for strength and I respect all faiths and beliefs. I do not judge and I choose not to be racist, sexist of narrow minded. I speak my prayers and devotions to myself in private and I seek no retribution on those who disagree.
I will tell you of my beliefs yet I will not preach. I am.
Just that – I am.
I do call myself “Wiccan” sometimes so that others will have a basic idea of what I believe however I am an “outlaw” and I always explain the differences. I follow the general ideals and the laws of Wicca but I am an outlaw because I don’t believe in “textbook witches”. So many today have lost sight of the old ways. The old ones tell us that we have everything we need within ourselves. I see so many who buy a paperback by Raymond Buckland or Silver Ravenwolf and call themselves a witch. Yes. They’re both brilliant authors and practitioners but I don’t believe they meant for their books to become bibles. You do not need a specific article of clothing or a special hat to follow a particular Path.
I was raised to believe that a spell is inside of you.
A blessing or enchantment is a piece of you.
Colours help. Magickal properties help. Timing helps.
Those aren’t everything.
Witchcraft comes from Within.
I refuse to adhere to the notion that the only way you can be a Witch is to be a member of a coven or a clan. I refuse to accept that others will condemn me because I have chosen a solitary path. I refuse to believe that everything I have ever known, deep within my heart and soul, is absolutely wrong by someone else’s textbook idea of what it means to be a Witch.
My Thoughts on “God”:
I’ve written this particular piece of this section specifically because I’ve had many questions regarding my personal thoughts on “God” several people as if I believe. I do, but not in the traditional or common ways. Many Pagans say “All Gods Are One” and I’ll tell you what that means to me..
I believe in a “God Force” and I believe it has several different facets. I believe that “God” has many different faces and names so that all of the children of the earth can recognize and understand. Would an indigenous tribesman know the particular “God” that each of us calls our own? Would you know mine? Or I, yours?
Some members of my family see “God” as a benevolent white haired, white bearded man in pristine white robes with eyes that cannot be gazed upon. I had an African friend once who said that “God” was a warrior with gems and colourful beads in strings and strings wrapped about his neck, he said that “God” was cocoa brown and had eyes that were black as the depths of the night sky. I know a woman who says that her God is a tall beautiful woman with flowing red hair, an hourglass “mom” figure and a bosom fit to feed all of her children, all of us.
I think “God” intentionally shows different genders and faces for all of the scattered tribes of our earth. I think “God” uses different methods for each of them. I think “God” lives within us all and has no ‘one set face’ and I think that the various bibles and texts and holy books of the people are meant to be different, for just those reasons. I believe that in the end: it all comes back to one singular force, created and made up of many.
I choose to love many of Gods facets together and independently because that is what makes me feel comfortable and safe. God is Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, my Child, the Spirit of my Beloved Pet and yes, even me. God is family, God is all, God is one. God is none.
I do not believe that God judges me, or you, or anyone. I believe that God is there to guide, to support, and to bring us home in the end. I believe that is what the point of “free will” is and always has been: the obligation to learn and to grow and to experience, good and bad, to take our own unique experiences back to the “God Force” in the end when it’s our time to be called home. I like to envision God as something like Star Trek’s Borg (except not as crazy maybe) but in the sense that God is a collective of the cosmos and all of her many varied children and their perspectives.
The Afterlife:
I believe that the afterlife is whatever you think it is. Yes, I know, that makes little sense so bear with me here. I believe in something that’s kind of a cross between the Wiccan Summerland and the Arthurian Avalon. I do not believe that I will spend all of eternity there after my physical body dies. I believe that I will initially stop there, like a vacation or an orientation period, and when I’ve absorbed all I can (like a debriefing maybe, other souls will teach me and guide me) and when I’ve accepted the One Force and developed an understanding of it’s true nature: I will move on and join it thus bringing to it, my own unique knowledge and then helping to guide others into the energies as it becomes their turn.
I think that our emotional issues (our ‘inherent human crazy’ if you will) come with us into the afterlife. I think the welcoming committee (sorry, I couldn’t resist) will then counsel us and bring us through to our proper and full Spirit and Energy potential. I truly believe that those we have known and loved throughout our Spiritual Journeys will be there to do this important task.
Reincarnation:
My thoughts on reincarnation go hand in hand with all of the previous section on “The Afterlife.” I think that “Life” overall is like a big grade school. I think we go through different lives and different levels so that we’ve experienced all that we can before we go to the final step of merging with the One Force. I think that we stop at our personal versions of “Heaven” and go through the big debriefing thing and then we choose the next lesson from our homework list, we’re then born into that Life Path without knowledge of the others (though I do believe the memories sometimes do still creep in, dreams, odd memories, etc) I think that certain Souls do travel together, learn together, for several lifetimes and as one “graduates” another is placed in to travel with the group and learn from the others in their “class” just like school, but bigger, and a bit more forgiving. The only exams you need to do are the ones within yourself. On second though, maybe these exams really are harder than I initially thought? You’re always you’re own worst critic, especially on a deep gut level.
Watch Out For:
If someone demands money, if someone threatens you, if someone slams other Faiths and/or beliefs, if someone makes wild claims to know “the one true path” – run like hell. That is not the Witches’ way. I truly believe that this advice holds true for just about any religion or path as well. Eyes wide open, if it feels wrong for you in your heart, then it more than likely is.
The bottom line is this:
I must say it again and I cannot stress this enough: If something feels wrong in your gut – back away from it. We were given intuition for a reason.
About Resources:
Witchcraft comes from within. It is in your heart and your soul. The books and sites are meant as a guide. Use them as such. Take what you can from each and move on to the next. The most important part of finding your individual path is simply to find what feels right for you.
The rule is:
“Do what thou will yet harm none”
That is “Do unto others… “etc. as well as “there are no set rules” – you need to follow what feels right in your own heart or there is no point in anything at all.
I connect with:
People who are inherently good. People who are flawed. People who are open minded and do not judge. People who are honest and real. People who care. People who are curious, confused, lost, afraid. People who feel alone. People who feel oppressed, repressed, depressed and simply resigned. People who are beautiful. Loving. Kind. Compassionate. Understanding. People of all Faiths, ethnicities, orientations, cultures and systems. Share with me, advise me, teach me about your ways. I’m open and I want to learn.

To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.
Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.
Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.
When the Lady’s moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart’s desire seek.
Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.
Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God’s
insight.Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.
When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.
Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.
In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it’s height time for Oak and Holly to fight.
Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you’ll be.
Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you’ll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.

The Thirteen Goals of a Witch:
Know yourself
Who are you inside? Where have you been? What are your personal experiences both in the craft and in your ordinary life? I am a mother, a sister, a friend, a wife, a lover and a survivor. I have lived through things that some say are tragic and needless but everything has its purpose. Sometimes I “practice” sometimes I simply have Faith. Always – I am me.
Know your Craft
I take what I can from every resource and I fit it all together into a package that feels right for me. I am not any single definition of Witch. I am what I feel. I am what I see.
Learn
The quest never ends. You cannot possibly know all and you should never stop striving to know all that you can. The day you stop learning is the day that you move on beyond this incarnation.
Apply knowledge with wisdom
Knowledge is that of a book or a lesson. Lessons are necessary. You need these in order to grow. Wisdom comes from using that knowledge in the right ways. Knowing when to use your craft and when to simply stand aside and let things happen as they must.
Achieve balance
Balance can be difficult. Balance can be everything. To find that place in youre life where everything comes together. To feel secure in who and what you are. To feel secure in all that made you and all that you will be. Stop. Listen to your world around you. Accept that some things cannot and should not be changed and use your wisdom to overcome the obstacles that you can. Find peace in your surroundings. Meditate, rest, ever be mindful.
Keep your thoughts in good order
Pure of heart and intention. Try to always see the other point even if you do not agree and try to find peace with that. Accept that our differences make the universe work and try not to become angry or vengeful even in thought.
Keep your words in good order
“Speak ye little – listen much” Don’t wave your Faith around as a banner or for shock value. Be yourself, never talk the talk unless you can walk the walk. Make sure your brain is engaged before you put your mouth in gear.
Celebrate life
Always stop to smell the roses. No matter how difficult things may seem at a given time – always remember the good things. Life is a gift, a blessing. Your children, your family, your teachers – all blessings in this life. The sun shining in the morning, the moon glowing at night, a fresh flower, a delicate snowflake – all blessings and all beautiful. Gifts for you. Praise them and give thanks.
Attune with the cycles of the Earth
No needless littering or polluting. No destroying things or disrespecting nature. Live, love, rejoice in the earth and her cycles. Praise the Goddess in her moon form and give thanks to the God in his glorious sun body. Respect the seasons and feast for the grace of the gifts you have been given.
Breathe and eat correctly
Natural foods, relaxed and calm breathing. Meditate, practice calming rituals and techniques. Do not needlessly poison your body for then you are poisoning the Goddess and the God as all things are the body of the Mother.
Exercise the body
Stay strong and as healthy as you can. Do not become lazy, slothlike, gluttonous. Use your beautiful gift of body to praise and take joy in the universe.
Meditate
This to me is the key to inner peace and balance. Meditation gives you that needed break throughout the day. It can give you the edge when you feel that you’re becoming overwhelmed. It can regulate your blood flow, regulate your thoughts, help relieve anxiety and so much more.
Honor the Goddess and God
Give praise for all that you see around you. Never forget the great ones in your devotions – they made this all possible and they love you no matter who you are or what you do.
The following set of thirteen principles was adopted by the Council of American Witches, in April, 1974.
The Thirteen Principles
– We practice rites to attune ourselves with the natural rhythm of life forces marked by the phases of the Moon and the seasonal Quarters and Cross Quarters.
– We recognize that our intelligence gives us a unique responsibility toward our environment. We seek to live in harmony with Nature, in ecological balance offering fulfillment and consciousness within an evolutionary concept.
– We acknowledge a depth of power far greater than that apparent to the average person. Because it is far greater than ordinary it is sometimes called supernatural, but we see it as lying within that which is naturally potential to all.
– We conceive of the Creative Power in the universe as manifesting through polarity ~ as masculine and feminine ~ and that this same Creative Power lies in all people, and functions through the interaction of the masculine and feminine. We value neither above the other, knowing each to be supportive to each other. We value sex as pleasure, as the symbol and embodiment of life, and as one of the sources of energies used in magickal practice and religious worship.
– We recognize both outer worlds and inner, or psychological, worlds sometimes known as the Spiritual World, the Collective Unconscious, Inner Planes, etc. ~ and we see in the interaction of these two dimensions the basis for paranormal phenomena and magickal exercises. We neglect neither dimension for the other, seeing both as necessary for our fulfilment.
– We do not recognize any authoritarian hierarchy, but do honor those who teach, respect those who share their greater knowledge and wisdom, and acknowledge those who have courageously given of themselves in leadership.
– We see religion, magick, and wisdom in living as being united in the way one views the world and lives within it ~a world view and philosophy of life which we identify as Witchcraft.
– Calling oneself “Witch” does not make a Witch – but neither does heredity itself, not the collecting of titles, degrees, and initiations. A Witch seeks to control the forces within her/himself that make life possible in order to live wisely and well without harm to others and in harmony with Nature.
– We believe in the affirmation and fulfilment of life in a continuation of evolution and development of consciousness giving meaning to the Universe we know and our personal role within it.
– Our only animosity towards Christianity, or towards any other religion or philosophy of life, is to the extent that its institutions have claimed to be “the only way”, and have sought to deny freedom to others and to suppress other ways of religious practice and belief.
– As American {Or World-Wide!} Witches, we are not threatened by debates on the history of the Craft, the origins of various terms, the legitimacy of various aspects of different traditions. We are concerned with our present and our future.
– We do not accept the concept of absolute evil, nor do we worship any entity known as Satan or the Devil, as defined by the Christian tradition. We do not seek power through the sufferings of others, nor accept that personal benefit can be derived only by denial to another.
– We believe that we should seek within Nature that which is contributory to our health and well-being.

Code of Chivalry
- Chivalry is a high code of honor which is of most ancient Pagan origin, and must be lived by all who follow the Old ways.
- It must be understood that thoughts and intent put forth on this plane will wax strong in other planes, and return… bringing into creation, on this world, that which had been sent forth. Thus, you should exercise discipline, for “as ye do plant, so shall ye harvest”.
- It is only by preparing our minds to be as Gods that we can ultimately attain godhead.
- Above all else, you must be true to yourself.
- A witches’ word must have the validity of a signed and witnessed oath. Thus, give thy word sparingly, but adhere to it like iron.
- Refrain from speaking ill of others, for not all truths of the matter may be known.
- Pass not unverified words about another, for hearsay is, in large part, a thing of falsehoods.
- Be honest with others, and let them know that honesty is also expected of them.
- The heat of the moment plays havoc with the truth. To keep your head is a virtue.
- Contemplate always the consequences of your actions upon others. Strive not to harm.
- Different covens may well have diverse views on love between members and with others. When a coven, clan, or grove is visited or joined, you should always find out their practices and abide by them, or leave.
- Dignity, a gracious manner, and a good humour are much to be admired.
- As a witch, you have power, and your powers wax strongly as wisdom increases. Therefore, exercise discretion in their use.
- Courage and honour endure forever. Their echoes remain when the mountains have crumbled to dust.
- Pledge friendship and fealty to those who warrant it. Strengthen others of this path and they will strengthen you.
- You must not reveal the secrets of another witch or another coven. Others have laboured long and hard for them, and cherish them as a treasure.
- Though there may be differences between those of the Old Ways, those who are once-born must see nothing and must hear nothing.
- Those who follow the mysteries should be above reproach in the eyes of the world.
- The laws of the land should be obeyed whenever possible and within reason, for the most part they have been chosen with wisdom.
- Have pride in yourself and seek perfection in mind and body. For the Lady asks “How cast thou honour another unless thou give honour to thyself first?”
- Those who seek the mysteries should consider themselves as select of the Gods, for it is they who lead the race of humankind to the highest of thrones and beyond the stars.

The Law
* We are of the Old Ways, among those who walk with the Goddess and God and receive Their love.
* Keep the Sabbats and Esbats to the best of your abilities, for to do otherwise is to lessen your connection with the Goddess and God.
* Harm none. This, the oldest law, is not open to interpretation or change.
* Shed not blood in ritual; the Goddess and God need not blood to be duly worshipped.
* Those of our ways are kind to all creatures, for hurtful thoughts are quiet draining and aren’t worth the loss of energy.
* Misery is self-created; so, too, is joy, so create joy and disdain misery and unhappiness. And this is within your power. So harm not.
* Teach only what you know, to the best of your ability, to those students who you choose, but teach not to those who would use your instructions for destruction or control. Also, teach not to boost pride, forever remember: She who teaches out of love shall be enfolded in the arms of the Goddess and God.
* Ever remember that if you would be of our way, keep the law close to your heart, for it is the nature of the Wicca to keep the Law.
* If ever the need arises, any law may be changed or discarded, and new laws written to
replace them, so long as the new laws don’t break the oldest law of all: Harm None.
* Blessings of the Goddess and God on us all.
by Scott Cunningham
—————————————-
The Law of the Power
* The Power shall not be used to bring harm, to injure or control others. But if the need rises, the Power shall be used to protect your life or the lives of others.
* The Power is used only as need dictates.
* The Power can be used for your own gain, as long as by doing so you harm none.
* It is unwise to accept money for use of the Power, for it quickly controls its taker. Be not as those of other religions.
* Use not the Power for prideful gain, for such cheapens the mysteries of Wicca and magick.
* Ever remember that the Power is the sacred gift of the Goddess and God, and should never be misused or abused.
* And this is the law of the Power.

Charge of the Goddess
Now listen to the words of the Great Mother,
Who was of old also called among men
Artemis, Astarte, Athene, Dione, Melusine, Aphrodite,
Cerridwen, Dana, Arianrhod, Isis, Bride
And by many other names.
Whenever ye have need of any thing,
Once in the month, and better it be when the moon is full,
Then shall ye assemble in some secret place,
And adore the spirit of me, who am Queen of all witches.
There shall ye assemble,
Ye who are fain to learn all sorcery,yet have not won its deepest secrets;
To these will I teach things that are as yet unknown.
And ye shall be free from slavery;
And as a sign that ye be really free, ye shall be naked in your rites;
And ye shall dance, sing, feast, make music and love,
All in my praise.
For mine is the ecstasy of the spirit, and mine also is joy on earth;
For my law is love unto all beings.
Keep pure your highest ideal;
Strive ever towards it, let naught stop you or turn you aside;
For mine is the secret door which opens upon the land of youth,
And mine is the cup of wine of life,
And the cauldron of Cerridwen, which is the Holy Grail of immortality.
I am the gracious Goddess,
Who gives the gift of joy unto the heart of man.
Upon earth, I give the knowledge of the spirit eternal;
And beyond death, I give peace, and freedom,
And reunion with those who have gone before.
Nor do I demand sacrifice; for behold, I am the Mother of all living,
And my love is poured out upon the earth.
Hear ye the words of the Star Goddess;
She in the dust of whose feet are the hosts of heaven,
whose body encircles the universe.
I,
Who am the beauty of the green earth, and the white moon among the stars,
And the mystery of the waters, and desire of the heart of man.
Call unto thy soul;
Arise and come unto me;
For I am the soul of nature, who gives life to the universe.
From me all things proceed, and unto me all things must return;
And before my face, beloved of Gods and of men,
Let thine innermost divine self be enfolded in the rapture of the infinite.
Let my worship be within the heart that rejoiceth;
For behold, all acts of love and pleasure are my rituals.
And therefore let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion,
Honour and humility, mirth and reverence within you.
And thou who thinkest to seek for me,
Know thy seeking and yearning shall avail thee not
Unless thou knowest the mystery:
That if that which thou seekest thou findest not within thee,
Thou wilt never find it without thee.
For behold, I have been with thee from the beginning;
And I am that which is attained at the end of desire.

The God Charge
Come ye all and hark unto me, The Consort of the Lady, for I am your God. I was brought forth from the Goddess, empowered by the beauty and strength of Her song.
I am her Son, Lover, and King as I am also your Son, Lover and King. I am born at the Winter Solstice, a promise of life renewed. As the Sun waxes, so does my strength, and I become the Stag of the forest, roaming free and untamed, until in the Spring, I join with Her, who is the Spirit of Nature Herself, and I am rapt in Her beauty.
We join in a holy and sacred love, which brings life to the fields. I continue as the Stag, until at Summer Solstice, She who is Queen calls me to be her King, while I am at the Height of my power. I accept, knowing the responsibility this entails. I am a merciful King, who protects His creatures.
At the Harvest, I willingly sacrifice myself, so that my creatures, who I love dearly are provided for during the lean months ahead, when snow and cold blanket the Earth in sleep and Death. I become the sailor of the last seas.
As such, I become the Guardian of the Gate between worlds. I bring you to the Island Remembered where I give rest, so that you may become young and be born again as I must also, at Yule, to continue the Pattern.
I am the Lord of the Dance, who dances in honor of the Singer of the Song; the Song which brought me forth. I am the Sun, who shines brightly, bringing forth light and warmth of day to the Earth, who is our Mother.
I am also the flame, who brings light and warmth into the hearth of your homes, as well as the light and warmth in your hearts. Mine is the lightning which dances across the dark sky for Her favor.
Mine is the Seed which empowers Life, and Mine is the comfort between lives, Mine is the lust in your nature, Mine is the joy of the dance in your hearts, Mine is the inspiration in your minds, which fuels progress. Mine is the strength and power of your being, tempered with compassion and mercy.
I am your God, I was always here, always patient… waiting for you to return home again to me. I do not seek dominion over the Goddess who brought me forth, nor do I seek dominion over you my children. I do not threaten with damnation, hell, flood or plague, for I love my creatures far too much to do them such harm.
I am in you and around you. Turn inward my children and experience your Divinity. The Goddess and Myself joined together make up the Whole and Continuous One, Who is Infinity, which is Divine. As such, We contain you, making you Divinity Incarnate.
Know this and never forget this. You who are our creatures and children, are never dirty, but Divine. Strive to see this in each other, for even if you were to forget and forsake Me in this Life, remember the Law…
“LOVE UNTO ALL BEINGS, LOVE IS THE LAW AND LOVE IS THE BOND”.
Let My inspiration spawn power with and not power over. Seek not to have dominion over your fellow creatures who share this Time and Space with you. Defend the weak and the oppressed from those who would do this, for the corruption of power over others through fear is a cancer which has afflicted my children and makes me sad.
Mine is the joy of the wild forests and of pleasures of hearth, home and each other. But these things will be forfeit, if the destruction of the Mother continues. Reach into your souls and call forth Llugh with His mighty Spear, and Cernunnos mighty and ever-living defender of the Wild places.
Defend the Earth Mother from the rape and destruction brought forth by your kind, for if the Earth Mother should be killed, you my creatures, whom I love, will perish also. Know this in your hearts. The Time is now.
Know that I am always with you and in you, when ever you have need of me, look to the Sun, or go to some wild place and call my name, and I will come. I am your father, your son, your brother and your lover…..
You are mine and I am yours through eternity.

The Charge of the Crone
I am the Queen of Magick and the dark of the Moon,
hidden in the deepest night.
I am the mystery of the Otherworlds
and the fear that coils about your heart in the times of your trials.
I am the soul of nature that gives form to the universe;
it is I who awaits you at the end of the spiral dance.
Most ancient among gods and mortals,
let my worship be within the heart that has truly tasted life,
for behold all acts of magick and art are my pleasure
and my greatest ritual is love itself.
Therefore let there be beauty in your strength,
compassion in your wrath,
power in your humility,
and discipline balanced through mirth and reverence.
You who seek to remove my veil and behold my true face,
know that all your questing and efforts are for nothing,
and all your lust and desires shall avail you not at all.
For unless you know my mystery,
look wherever you will, it will elude you,
for it is within you and nowhere else.
Behold, I have ever been with you,
from the very beginning,
the comforting hand that nurtured you in the dawn of life,
and the loving embrace that awaits you at the end of each life,
for I am that which is attained at the end of the dance.
I am the womb of new beginnings,
as yet unimagined and unknown.

Charge of the Dark Goddess
© Lynne O’Connor
The Dark Goddess speaks to us,
through the mouths of Lilith, Kali, Tiamet, Hecate,
Nix, the Black Madonna, Nemesis and Morgaine.
I am the Darkness behind and beneath the shadows.
I am the absence of air that awaits at the bottom of every breath.
I am the Ending before Life begins again,
the Decay that fertilizes the Living.
I am the Bottomless Pit,
the never-ending struggle to reclaim that which is denied.
I am the Key that unlocks every Door.
I am the Glory of Discovery,
for I am that which is hidden, secluded and forbidden.
Come to me at the Dark Moon and see that which can not be seen,
face the terror that is yours alone.
Swim to me through the blackest oceans
to the center of your greatest fears–
the Dark God and I will keep you safe.
Scream to us in terror, and yours will be the Power to Forbear.
Think of me when you feel pleasure, and I will intensify it,
until the time when I may have the greatest pleasure
of meeting you at the Crossroads Between the Worlds.

The Witches’ Rune
Darksome night and shining Moon,
harken to the Witches’ rune
East and South, West and North,
hear me now I call thee forth!
By all the powers of land and sea,
Be obedient unto me.
Wand and pentacle, cup and sword,
hearken ye unto my word.
Cord and censer, totem and knife,
waken all ye unto life.
Powers of the Witches’ Blade,
come ye now as the charge is made!
Queen of Heaven , Queen of Hel,
send your aid unto my spell.
Horned Hunter of the night,
work my will by magick rite.
By all the powers of land and sea,
as I do say, ’so mote it be!
By all the might of Moon and Sun,
as I will, it shall be done!
