99% of the people who land here will be bored to tears by my depressive pessimistic nature. They’ll get tired of my low self esteem and my incessant complaining. They’ll likely move on. The remaining 1% will possibly be comforted by my neurosis and overall weirdness and maybe they’ll feel a bit less alone in this big mean world. Thank you, you have made it all worthwhile.

NOTE: Details of certain events as well as some locations have been altered or redacted and names have been changed to protect the rights of the innocent and to save my ass from the wrath of the guilty, I thank you in advance for your respect and understanding.

About Blog:

Where did the Title “Tragic’s Wake” come from?

It has kind of a double meaning, actually.

Part one: When I was fifteen, I hitchhiked across the country with a friend to try and deliver her home safely to her mom. One of the people we met along our journey was a really nice biker dude who was concerned about us being out on the highway so late at night. He offered to take us to his cabin and feed us, let us get a night of sleep and then deliver us back to the highway with enough money for the next food stop. Since there was two of us, and we were broke (and drunk) we agreed and we had a great time just chillin’ at his cabin. There was a huge banner over the gate onto the property that read “Penelope’s Wake” and I thought it looked cool so I asked the story behind it, he told me that he’d had a giant pet pig that got shot by a hunter and since she was his best friend plus he was a gypsy road warrior by nature, he invited his biker friends over to give her an appropriate send off. The name stuck and now its a bit local legend/folklore in the area. It sounds like a silly tale but it gave me a certain amount of hope for the future, even at my tender age, I didn’t feel like such a loser oddball, I’ll never forget him, his kindness or his story of his beloved Penelope.

Part two:
My original net name was Tragic, I’m a recovering Goth and I’ve never been what you’d call a bucket of sunshine if you know what I mean. I had a lot of dumb shit happen during that period and for reasons of personal safety, I had to totally abandon the name online. I did not abandon the name in meatspace though and several folks called me by my nickname regardless of my net state. Eventually I planned to come back to my “real” name out here and when I did, this blog name seemed appropriate because so much about me (my style, my opinions, my overall knowledge of the world) had changed and grown, it was almost as though I’d passed through some kind of near death experience (in meatspace I actually did have a NDE) and it just felt like the right name for my bitching post.

Leftist Commie Bitch. Militant Flowerchild. Walking Contradiction. Proud Canadian. Proud White Trash. Proud Pagan/Witch. Proud Alt Grrl. Prochoice. LGBTQ. Renegade Feminist. Pansexual. Honest. Artist. Writer. Dreamer. Mom. Grandma. Sister. Friend. Lover. Wife… SURVIVOR.

I Am:

I’m a mum of three (two gorgeous girls and a rakish wee boy) grandmum to one (for now anyways) I’m a digital artist (not graphic designer because that would imply some form of reason or organization) I’m a life-blogger (because I can) and most of my guts were incinerated at the SJRH in March 2011 (because I’m so bitchy that even my insides wanted to escape) I’m opinionated but my heart is easily injured. Still waters run deep; I’m bottomless.

I’m different, dark and sometimes a bit morbid. They’ve called me a fatalist, meh… Whatever. Fallout was a great game; I’ll still be foraging when y’all have been melted into the dust. I’m not mean, I am lovingly critical. I’m not snappy; I am emotionally abrupt. I swear too much. Often I don’t even make sense. I hate trolls, religious freaks and right wing fanatics. If you’re here to save me, don’t bother, I’m already a lost cause. Stick around, I don’t bite–much..

I swear enough to make a biker blush, I smoke (like a chimney), I drink on occasion but I’m not a liquor pig. I do not do recreational drugs and I have a severe reaction to marijuana–it makes me break out in dead, I wish I were kidding. Actually no, I don’t. That shit stinks and it gives me a rash too. Yuck.

I do not take bullshit or drama from anyone, family included. I don’t tolerate racism, genderism or the classic idea of “isms” in any sense or on any level.

I like to be sensual but I am not a tramp. Yes I AM Pansexual, that doesn’t make me promiscuous. Looking at the menu is not the same as pigging out and I’m monogamous no matter who or what gender I happen to be with, unless of course you have a pile of sexyback and I’m coming to bring it. Oh, and I am an unapologetic and shameless tease. The unquestionable influence of absolute flirtation is part of the unstoppable force that makes this crap old world turn, bitches.

I am ProChoice and yes, I CAN & WILL shoot back.

I am horrified by Right Wing Fundamentalists–those who would condemn me and my children for existing do not deserve my time or energy.

I’m Pagan, NOT Wiccan and yes, there IS a difference, a very big one in fact.
I do not judge others on their beliefs and I ask that they do not judge me.

One of my theories of life in general is that its all a huge book being read somewhere — from beginning to end is the history of the entire world and all of its people. The person finishes the book and closes it and the world ends. Someone else picks up the book and reads it and it all starts again. After a while, when enough people have read the book, pages start to wear thin and you can see through the text to the next page and that’s what deja-vu and ESP really is — just reading through the worn pages…

I Play Well With:
Freaks, geeks, losers and lost causes. People who understand what its like to be called “less than” and still won’t let it drag them down. Deviants (the legal kind), crazies (the good kind), artists, dreamers, loners and underdogs. Emo, goth, rock n’ roll, princesses, preps. All are welcome here–don’t judge me and I’m totally here for you, deal?

My Thoughts On:
Ceiling Cat: The universal adversary and divine opposite of Basement Cat, he is our supreme overlord and master. Ceiling cat knows and sees all. If we do not abide his will, we shall spend eternity in the dark lair of Basement Cat.

Nyan Cat: preaches that we are to learn his glorious song and sing it all day, every day. We are instructed to craft a poptart coat with tails of rainbow to pay homage to his divine highness. He is the only begotten son of Ceiling Cat, sent to watch over us and deliver us from the dark temptation of Basement Cat.
