Over the Moon With My Galaxy!
So I have this fabulous new tablet, this is my first blog post with the delightful beast, getting used to the onscreen keys is so not easy but the games are kickass. This little bugger is the Samsung Galaxy Tab, 7″ and running on Android. It has wifi and the charge lasts forever (did I mention that regular price is $399 and I only paid $50?) Never in my craziest dreams did I expect that I’d ever have one of these but fortune smiled upon me and a deal I couldn’t resist fell into my lap.
This tablet is slightly used though never owned, it also has one annoying factor that was easily overcome thanks to something called “Tap Tap App” (factor being a retail demo mode coded right into the OS) So there was an endless demo video playing every time the tab went to “sleep”, the app makes the screen go into absolute sleep instead of the passive sleep meaning the screen actually shuts down with a single touch and wakes up just as easily.
For the first time in years, I have my own data plan too! Depending on how much data I use, the bill can range from $5 – $35 but I’ll never pay more than I’ve used and I have data access anywhere that has cellular coverage.
Android has some pretty amazing apps too! I got all the Angry Birds games free, a Need For Speed racing game, a diary and a crapload of photo editing and paint apps! Why did I not tether myself to Google sooner? Even if Google is evil, at least they’re fun and useful!
So there you have it. Tragic has finally completely entered the 21st century! Be prepared to be inundated with odd things that I’ve created on this little pocket beast and if you use ‘droid and either have or have seen any apps you think that I might like or find useful, hit me in a comment or drop me an email! Oh, and suggest some ebooks that I might like too, this thing is the perfect size for lounging on some curb in the sun and escaping into fantasyland

I don’t think of myself as a Luddite, or technological challenged, but I think I’ll take some time to adjust to all the new stuff.

@X. Dell, I only advance when the price is right, I’m kinda like a Ferengi that way
